Mikovits finds it unbelievable that the UMC St. Radboud researchers haven't used the material they got from WPI in any way.

In retrospect, van Kuppeveld and his colleagues only were interested in the PCR technique, while Mikovits assumed that at the UMC St. Radboud the entire Science study would be replicated.

Como veis viene un buen recopilatorio ordenado cronológicamente sobre lo comentado ayer a la una de la madrugada y lo puesto ésta mañana. Y sin duda es una excelente idea, hacer dicho recopilatorio y un llamamiento a los medios(no se podrán quejar, así con el trabajo ya casi hecho, solo falto de un mínimo perfil y la contrastación).
Y ahora ya, para rizar el rizo a toda ésta polémica, aquí va una aclaración del Doctor Ferrán sobre el asunto, sin duda muy esclarecedora, especialmente en la talla investigadora de los "expertos" que "no encontraron" el XRMV****(publicado ésta tarde en su foro):

Para aclarar conceptos…
Ningun diagnóstico de SFC es válido si es de antes de 1994, como mínimo, que es cuando se publicaron los actuales criterios de consenso para el diagnóstico, por lo tanto, muestras congeladas de 1991 y 1992, no son válidas para ningun estudio riguroso, tanto si los resultados son positivos, como negativos.
La primera premisa para que un estudio sea metodológicamente aceptable, es que todos los pacientes deben cumplir unos criterios establecidos. Los criterios de Oxford no son válidos para el diagnóstico del SFC. Por lo tanto es probable que si los investigadores americanos detectaron XMRV en estos pacientes, se trate de positivos de enfermos no SFC, lo que restaría también fuerza a la idea de especificidad en la enfermedad y potencia la de que deben seleccionarse muy bien las muestras y el método antes de extraer conclusiones.
*****ya para mayor asombro, os diré que dichos expertos, aparte de ser de la teoría PSI de Wesseley(el otro experto que no "encontró" el retrovirus en el Reino Unido). Bueno, pues algunos de ellos no son retrovirólogos, ¡si no psiquiatras, o psicólogos!. Vamos, ¡el colmo de los colmos!. Es la primera vez que los psicólogos participan en estudiosde retrovirología. ¡la repanocha! (tengo un interesante recopilatorio del debate generado en torno a éste tema en un foro especializado de habla inglesa y ¡no tiene desperdicio!.
